Here we are at the #1 airport of the world
An awesome holiday that has now drawn to an end. We’re here at Changi Airport, bags are checked in and we have couple of hours to simply wander.
Well yesterday was no different to the day before at Sentosa. It was a fun, fun, fun day!
Our day started with our buffet buffet which has been quite impressive at Le Meridian. Then it was off to Kidzania. We really didn’t know what to expect - I was describing it to MasterW that it is a big play Centre. Which it definitely was - but then again was very different.
Kids get to role model various jobs/occupations and they get paid. They save up their $$$ and then get to spend it at the Department Store.
The entire Centre is (as described by staff member) a giant and real life monopoly board.
It was terrific. From the moment we entered the foyer with a Qatar aeroplane on the roof and the front desk replicating a check in desk we knew we heading into something special.
We received our ‘boarding passes’, walked through security and we were in Kidzania world.
There were streets. There was a travel agent, a fire station, police station, courier company, bank, university, aeroplane, science lab, Ice cream factory - the list goes on and on.
MasterW was a fireman, a pilot and a scientist got paid $$$ and most importantly had a fun time. Parents simply watched through windows, sat around. It’s was all about the experience for the kids. So much learning taking place and such an immersive learning experience for the kids.
Time definitely got away from us here. We’d only paid for a 3 hour session.
From Kidzania it was off to Adventure Cove Waterpark. We also had just 3 hours here due to time spent at Kidzania. We definitely could’ve stayed a whole day here. It was so much fun! MasterW snorkeled for the first time in the ocean reef. Was so proud of him. He took to it so easily. No problems at all.
Under the water we saw an array of tropical type fish.
A first for MasterW and to see his excitement was just the best!
MasterW and MisterD then went on an inflatable raft up a conveyor belt and then came down the tube water slide. Another first for MasterW who got out of the water and said ‘that was awesome!’
After an enjoyable time in the various swimming pools it was then time to close the Waterpark. We with many others were sad it was 6pm and closing time.
The challenge ahead of us now was to dry ourselves off without a towel. Hotel didn’t allow towels to be taken and there were no towels at the Waterpark. So $5 it was ... step into the drying machine. Lol. What looked like a space capsule it had UV lights and fans blowing hot air. MasterW dried but did very little for me.
For those that know me ... seeing something like this I just had to dry it. MisterD on the other hand simply shook his head but then unable to resist stepped in the capsule for its final minutes.
So the solution was to step into ladies toilets and grab handful of paper towels and proceed to dry oneself. With the warm air, the drying machine and papery towels I was dry.
We are about to board our flight and so will finish this post when back in Melbourne.
