Sentosa Island - its like a giant theme park

We're at Sentosa Island and our immediate thought was that it feels like you are staying in a giant theme park - and there's no entry gates.

We arrived here just after 1pm - a short taxi ride from our apartment in Singapore.  Unfortunately I did not hear the words 'you've been upgraded' this time.  Bugger!  And so the three of us are now sharing a bed and we are in one room.  We were definitely all the space which we had in our two bedroom apartment.

Planning our holiday with a few days on Sentosa Island, certainly does feel like part II - as it is a very different experience here on Sentosa.

Good thing we are only staying three days, don't think we could afford to stay any longer.  Prices are very high.  Tonight I had the most expensive gelato, I have ever had.  SGD11, which the dollar is pretty close to 1:1.  Butter salted caramel gelato - was nice but why so expensive - I guess they can right.

Oh and how was this, when I asked for the gelato in a cone - you'd think I would be asked small, medium or large right - no, I wasn't, it was assumed I wanted large which fundamentally was bigger scoop of gelato - I think.  The man handed it to me - and I certain the gelato was going to topple off the cone.

MisterD and MasterW settled for their gelato in a cup.

Before heading over to Sentosa, we wandered the streets of Kampong Glam, which was near our hotel, looking for some breakfast.  We had a very slow start this morning, heading out of the apartment around 11am.  A late check out of 1pm, suited us very nicely.

We stumbled across this little food stall, and the lady was selling pancakes, not the usual pancakes which we lined up half hour for yesterday.  These were different and they were yum.  And so the three of us sat at the food stall on our little stools and enjoyed our very cheap breakfast.

It was very hot this time of the day, and so MasterW had himself a green apple juice, which he has had a couple of times over the last couple of days, MisterD is yet to get himself an ice coffee that is what he wanting.  He's pretty much having black coffee with ice blocks.  Known as kopi.  Some places offer a kopi latte or similar and thats with milk - but still tastes like hot coffee with ice blocks.

Whilst here at Sentosa Island staying at Le Meridian, we will enjoy our buffet breakfast each morning.

There's a monorail train on the island which is handy.  There's only four stops, in which our stop is right out front of the hotel - so that is a bonus.

After lunch we checked out Siloso Beach ... and then knew that we wanted to go to the Trickeye Museum.  Now that was a lot of fun!  We definitely enjoyed ourselves - lots of laughs.

Before we knew it - it was dinner time and so we grabbed some dinner - had our very expensive gelato and heading back to our hotel.

We noticed some vending machine - and knowing that we needed some water, we stopped.

Here we discovered the orange juice machine - which we'd seen in Chinatown.  This time MasterW and MisterD could not resist and wanted some.

Have to say it was very nice juice.

There is a lot to do here on Sentosa Island, and we know we are not going to get to do it all with just two full days here.

We definitely want to go to Universal Studios and we definitely want to go to the Waterpark.  We would also like to do the Luge ride - today the lines were just so long, and so we gave it a miss.

MasterW's best thing of the day was seeing our new hotel.
MisterD's best thing of the day is resting in bed at the end of the day
MissC's best thing of the day was laughing so much at the Trickeye Museum.

MisterD's tip of the day - prepare for geographic disorientation and sensory overload at Sentosa Island.
MasterW's tip of the day - don't
put the whole dumpling in dad's mouth in one bite because dad's mouth was so full.
